About

Born out of a passion to help students succeed in life and career, be it higher education, employment, or entrepreneurship, Instructional Design Systems Engineer Tekelia Kelly created InternChips.com, a website and database designed to help match high school students with companies, professionals, experts and business leaders in order to channel talented students into career-oriented internships and fill jobs with local talent.*

Presenting as one of eight selected to showcase their "big idea", with the theme of "education and workforce development", Tekelia launched InternChips.com at "48 Hour Launch-The Education Edition", March 28-30, 2014, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

InternChips is dedicated to serving both companies and students, enhancing workforce readiness by connecting employers and future job-seekers earlier in the skill-building process.** The InternChips database will be used to help match high school students with companies offering career-related job experience.

The platform will also provide career and technical training resources through Mrs. Kelly's CHIPS (Computer Help and Instructional Programs for Students) Program, to help assure students are ready for work in various industries.   CHIPS has provided quality education and information technology solutions since 1995 in Memphis and Chattanooga, TN, for K-12 schools, colleges, companies, and learning programs, including Solomon Schecter Day School, Memphis Jewish Community Center, Chattanooga State and Mapco Oil.

"I believe work-based learning opportunities such as internships, co-ops and job shadowing are vital to education, workforce and economic development. They are excellent ways to help assure students are ready to go from school to work, and that the workforce is strong and ready as well." Tekelia says.  Click here to see the many benefits.

The site is now ready to be used by both students and companies, with only basic information needed. Click here to go to the InternChips.com website's homepage.
